Benefits of the American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card

The Hilton Honors American Express Business Credit Card offers many enticing benefits for travelers who frequently stay at Hilton properties.

In this section, we’ll take a closer look at some of the key features of this card and why it is such a great option for Hilton Honors members.

Generous Welcome Bonus

Through July 19, 2023, American Express Hilton Honors Business Card offers a welcome bonus of 150,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points and a free-night certificate after you spend $4,000 in purchases on the Card in the first 3 months of Card Membership.

This is a great way to start your membership and earn a significant number of points that you can use for free hotel stays, upgrades, and more.

Earn Hilton Honors Points

The American Express Hilton Honors Business Card allows you to earn Hilton Honors points on all purchases.

You earn the following Hilton Honor points:

12X Hilton Honors Bonus Points for each dollar of eligible purchases charged on your Card directly with a hotel or resort within the Hilton Portfolio,

6X Hilton Honors Bonus Points for each dollar of eligible purchases at U.S. restaurants, on flights booked directly with airlines or with Amex Travel, and on car rentals booked directly from select car rental companies

Conrad Rangali Island Maldives (A Hilton Property)

Complimentary Hilton Honors Gold Status

As a card member, you receive complimentary Hilton Honors Gold status, which offers a range of benefits, including free breakfast, room upgrades, and late check-out.

Gold status is typically earned after staying at Hilton properties for at least 20 nights or earning 75,000 base points in a calendar year.

But with the Hilton Honors American Express Business Credit Card, you will get this status for free.

Fifth Night Free When You Book 5 Consecutive Nights on Points

This particular perk is available to Hilton Silver, Gold, and Diamond members.

Since the Hilton Honors American Express Business Card gives complimentary Gold status, whenever you book five nights at any property using points, you are eligible to get the 5th night free.

We leveraged this benefit during our stay at the Conrad Maldives, saving us 95,000 points.

Since the daily standard room rate using points at this property during our stay in 2021 was 95,000, we needed only to use 380,000 points instead of 475,000 points.

The Conrad Rangali Island has since increased to 120,000 Hilton Honors points per night.

Pro-Tip: Running low on Hilton points? Did you know you can transfer your Hilton Honors Points to anyone for free? Yes, it is one of the most generous perks of the Hilton Honors program. Check out this tutorial for steps to transfer Hilton points to other members.

Free Night Awards

As a Hilton Honors American Express Business Card holder, you will receive a free night certificate at any Hilton when you spend $15,000 within a calendar year.

You will get another free night certificate when you spend $60,000 within a calendar year.

Complimentary Hilton Honors Diamond Status

If you spend $60,000 on eligible purchases on your Card in a calendar year, you will receive Hilton Honors Diamond status.

This is the highest tier of Hilton Honors membership and comes with even more benefits, including executive lounge access and a higher earning rate on Hilton Honors points.

Personally, I do not recommend putting $60,000 worth of purchases on this credit card just to earn Hilton Honors Diamond status.

If you want to reach the highest tier of Hilton hotel status, the American Express Hilton Honors Aspire Credit Card offers complimentary Diamond status as long as you have the card.

Priority Pass Select Membership

Cardmembers receive a Priority Pass Select membership, which gives them access to over 1,000 airport lounges worldwide.

Hilton Honors American Express Business Cardholders have 10 complimentary visits to airport lounges each year once enrolled in the Priority Pass™ Select Membership.

This is a great perk for frequent travelers who want to relax and enjoy a comfortable space before their flight.

No Foreign Transaction Fees

The American Express Hilton Honors Business Card has no foreign transaction fees, which makes it an excellent option for international travelers.

You can use your card to make purchases in any currency without worrying about additional fees.

Purchase Protection and Extended Warranty

The American Express Hilton Honors Business Card offers purchase protection and extended warranty coverage.

If an eligible item you purchase with your Card is stolen or damaged within 90 days of purchase, you may be eligible for reimbursement.

The coverage is limited to up to $1,000 per occurrence and $50,000 per Card Member account per calendar year, and exclusions apply.

Additionally, if an eligible item you purchase with your Card has a warranty of five years or less, you can receive up to one additional year of warranty coverage.

Access to Amex Offers

Cardmembers also have access to Amex Offers, which provide discounts and cashback on purchases at various merchants.

These offers are tailored to your spending habits and can help you save money on everything from dining out to online shopping.

We use the CardPointers Google Chrome Extension to add Amex Offers to our credit cards automatically.

Can I Apply For This Credit Card Even If I Do Not Have a Business?

Side Hustlers are Eligible to Apply for Business Credit Cards

Virtually anybody with a side hustle or merely thinking of starting a future business may be eligible to apply for Hilton Honors American Express Business Credit Card.

That’s right, you may qualify even if you are just at the initial stages of your business!

Simply put, your side hustle does not need to be entirely off the ground yet – you can also qualify while in the process of conceptualizing it.

Broadly speaking, though, having an existing side hustle, regardless of income, fundamentally makes you a more qualified candidate, but it is not a requirement. Hence, any start-up is eligible.

List of Popular Side Hustles:

  • buying and selling online (Facebook marketplace, Amazon, Etsy, eBay, etc.)
  • tutoring
  • driving for Uber/Lyft
  • tour guide
  • being an Airbnb host
  • caregiving
  • babysitting
  • dog-walking
  • instacarting
  • freelance writer
  • doordashing
  • coaching/consulting
  • any manual labor you do on the side – plumbing, electrician, mowing the lawn, etc.
  • having your own blog/podcast/youtube channel
  • having a rental property
  • any freelance gig that yields a 1099 come tax time
  • your side hustle!

In a nutshell, you need not own a multi-million dollar company to qualify for a business card.

Nor would you need to have a physical office – your business address can be your primary residence.

Furthermore, you don’t need to work in your business full-time. It can be part-time or seasonal, or a few hours throughout the year.

You are eligible as long as you are engaged in some form of activity to earn a profit!

To sum it up, any side hustle will do, regardless of the nature and structure of your enterprise.

Do Not Have a Side Hustle? Start One!

Do not fret, you do have a couple of options.

Applying for a business card is possible if you are still in the beginning stages of planning for a business.

As with all businesses, we all need initial capital to fund our “start-up” expenses, and sometimes the fund source can come from a credit card. Banks are aware of this.

Whether you plan to start a podcast or a dog-walking side job (or any of the examples above) soon, consider applying for business credit cards, as the sign-up bonuses can be truly rewarding.

Pro-Tip: Selling Stuff at Facebook Marketplace is an easy side hustle anyone can start anytime!
